It is made by grinding pulverized-fuel ash (up to 25%), gypsum (5%) and clinker. PPFAC has a lower heat of hydration which is an advantage in preventing cracks when large volumes are being cast.

It is generally used in marine concrete construction, dams, underground pipes, culverts, trenches, tunnels, airport runways and massive construction.
