Improved sulphate resistance

PFAC concretes behave very differently from OPC concretes when exposed to marine environments. The inclusion of pulverized-fuel ash in concrete considerably increases its sulphate resistance. In some research projects, this effect increases with pulverized-fuel ash content and, at about 50% pulverized-fuel ash, such concrete attains resistance almost equal to a corresponding Sulphate-Resisting Portland Cement concrete.
